About me

My name is Ulf von Kalckreuth. I was born in the “old” Federal Republic of Germany, back in the early sixties. I am both a scientist and a central bank economist and statistician. I have never given up on research, it has become a second nature, and all the time I have been fascinated by the perspective and the possibilities of a central bank. Marrying those two roles has not always been easy, but often rewarding.

This website is devoted to my life as a researcher. It takes a look at my dissertation, a disperse collection of different avenues towards understanding the interplay of social interactions and the real economy. It recapitulates my habilitation that takes a micro-econometric focus. It features my publications, on topics such as corporate finance, financial constraints, mathematical economics, monetary transmission, investment behavior, foreign direct investment, growth, micro-econometrics, and survey statistics. And it intends to highlight a number of current issues.

It has been a pleasure and a privilege to do this work. I hope you like what you see.
