{"id":115,"date":"2020-04-19T16:10:40","date_gmt":"2020-04-19T16:10:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cv.von-kalckreuth.de\/?p=115"},"modified":"2020-04-19T16:12:47","modified_gmt":"2020-04-19T16:12:47","slug":"vancouver-and-washington-a-road-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/cv.von-kalckreuth.de\/?p=115","title":{"rendered":"Vancouver and Washington &#8212; a road show"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">My paper on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bundesbank.de\/en\/publications\/research\/discussion-papers\/statistical-governance-and-fdi-in-emerging-economies-808422\">statistical governance<\/a> got accepted at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peio.me\/the-13th-annual-conference\/program-and-papers-2020\/\">13th Annual Conference on the Political Economy of international Organizations (PEIO),<\/a>  that was held in Vancouver on February 20-22, 2020. The paper is on the real economic effects of a statistical standard implemented and promoted by the IMF, so I took the chance to also present it in Washington. Being there, I got an invitation from the Fed to present on the statistical challenges of Fintech activities, see the entry on Fintech under <a href=\"http:\/\/cv.von-kalckreuth.de\/?page_id=17\">topics<\/a>. I presented both on the classification issues of Fintech and on our household survey on Fintech use in Germany<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was one of the hardest weeks I ever had, but an immensely valuable opportunity to get competent feedback on many important aspects of my current professional work. In a sense, I did this in the last minute &#8212; crossing the borders started to get cumbersome and difficult because of Corona.
